Storms

Aren’t storms great? Well they definitely are when they’re in the summer, and you’re under cover. They smell so good; the moisture and the charged atmosphere- the lightning is pretty exciting too.
Then afterwards there’s the sense of release, the oppressive feeling notable by its absence.
The above photo is from September last year, it’s a view of Port de Pollenca, on the Spanish Balearic island of Mallorca in the Mediterranean. One of those amazing experiences, because you feel like it shouldn’t have happened: It was the last day of my holiday, an the last hour of my car hire, and I just thought it’d be nice to drive up onto the peninsula near the town and see what was there- the storm obliterated the views on the outward leg, but treated me to the most spectacular scenes on the return trip as it cleared the port and hit the mountains in the north of the island.
